About Us
Where heritage meets hustle
Heritage & Hustle Foundation is a nonprofit equipping BIPOC artists, entrepreneurs, and community-rooted leaders with the tools, coaching, infrastructure, and resources needed to build sustainable futures.
Our Mission
Heritage & Hustle Foundation expands access to capacity-building tools, coaching, technical skill development, and community infrastructure for BIPOC artists, entrepreneurs, and dreamers working to build sustainable futures.
Our Vision
A world where BIPOC creatives, entrepreneurs, and community builders have the resources, infrastructure, and support needed to transform vision into legacy.
Why Heritage & Hustle
Two words, one movement
Heritage
Culture, story, identity, community memory, lived experience, and legacy. Heritage is where we come from—the roots that ground our work and give it meaning.
Hustle
Execution, structure, discipline, strategy, movement, and the work required to build something sustainable. Hustle is how we turn vision into lasting reality.
Together, Heritage & Hustle represents the connection between where we come from and what we are building—legacy and execution moving as one.
Founder's Story

Michael J. Peterson is the founder of Heritage & Hustle Foundation. A first-generation American, his early life shaped a lasting belief that a person's starting point should never determine the height to which they can grow.
The arts became one of his earliest vehicles for expression, discipline, and confidence. Through music, performance, and creative community, Michael learned the power of voice, structure, and opportunity—lessons that continue to guide his work today.
His career has crossed arts and cultural spaces, nonprofit leadership, operations, finance, real estate, business consulting, and community programming. Across each chapter, Michael has remained committed to service, mentorship, and building systems that help people and organizations become more sustainable.
Through that work, he repeatedly saw talented BIPOC artists, entrepreneurs, and community-rooted leaders struggle—not for lack of vision or drive, but for lack of access to business tools, systems, coaching, and technical infrastructure.
Heritage & Hustle Foundation was born from that gap. Michael founded it to help people turn vision into sustainable practice, business, and community impact—rooted in the belief that legacy and execution must move together.

This partnership allows our programming to be not only educational, but connected to a physical ecosystem of support.
